Custom Electric Sign
By special request, we created this truly cool Reddy Kilowatt sign.
Reddy Kilowatt was a a company mascot in the 1920s and become a household name. A bolt of lightning, an electrical socket for an ear and lightbulb for a nose, this caricature became a symbol used by power companies up and down the country for decades.
There were a couple of challenges with this design. A few sections had to be connected (around the ear), particularly sharp corners had to be rounded out, and his lightning strike "body" widened a little to prevent it being just too bendy at the "joints" and mid-section.
The laser cut the design beautifully! The lightly textured powder coat gives it a slight rustic look. We love it and it really pops on this kitchen wall.
